Weigh In day relief!

Yep, I'm relieved.  I weighed in today and lost 300gms!  Woohoo! I'm relieved cos it could have easily been a gain after the huge meat weekend amongst other hi-cal food. That's a 900gm difference from Monday morning (yesterday) to this morning which is better than the gain I was expecting.

My fruit, veggie and prawn day yesterday must have counteracted the overeating from the weekend, so that's sooooo gooood! Gonna be good today!

A carnivorous weekend!

It was a huge meat eating weekend for me this weekend! It started with an unexpected dinner out on Friday night at Hurricanes (meat-eaters heaven), and then we had yum cha (at home), and then a BBQ yesterday after church. Unfortunately, I didn't make good choices all weekend and ate like a dinosaur, well a t-rex more than a brontosaurus.

So with a weigh-in tomorrow, it's not looking good at all.  I've got one day up my sleeve to try and even things out a bit. But I'm telling myself it's just a glitch for the month, and a new month and new week starts tomorrow.  I'll go low carb and high veggie for a day and see what happens tomorrow!

Slow cooker goodness!

Yesterday morning I received my weekly delivery of milk and meat from Farmers Direct. I'm really enjoying this, and then on Thursday my fruit and veggies arrive. I don't get too much, but what I've ordered seems to be almost right, so that's good.

To use up some stuff in the fridge, I thought I'd make a slow cooker hotpot for dinner.  So in went some large chunks of chicken thigh fillet, chunky diced carrots, onions, potatoes, parsnips, swedes, and a couple of cloves of garlic. Then about 4 litres of chicken stock.  Sound a bit like soup? It should cos it was actually a veggie soup pack from Woolies. I had basically made chicken soup but it was very very chunky and not soup-like at all.

After it had cooked for 8 hours, it smelled great but looked strange, like overly chunky chicken and veggie soup. So I threw in half a packet of risoni and waited...to my amazement, it worked and all of a sudden we had an edible meal! And healthy too! No added oil and easy to make. Still looks a bit odd, but tasted good :)

Weigh in today!

It was my home weigh in today! And I'm really glad to say I lost 1.2kg...but I certainly didn't deserve it as I didn't track and I ate rubbish every day.  But, it just goes to show how bad I was in NZ, and it's no surprise that I'd gained 3.4kg over a couple of weeks while I on holiday there!

So it's new week and my tracker is ready and waiting for me to fill it up with healthy food items, and the occasional treat ;P

This week's goal:

  • daily tracking
  • daily exercise (not being specific here  :))
Only 2.2kg to go before I get back to my pre-NZ weight, and then onwards and downwards.

I think I can do better!

So much for a healthy week back from holidays! I started tracking but ran out of points by day 2 so sort of gave up.  :(

I still have 3 days to go before I weigh in so it's never too late. And the scales show that I am losing despite being so bad this week...this means I was super-duper bad in NZ!

On a different note, I got my first delivery this week from Farmers Direct which deliver milk, bread and meat to me one morning a week, and fruit and veggies on another. It's very exciting to have it delivered to me, and it means I don't need to go shopping as often, and healthy food is always going to be there. The good thing is that I can pick and choose what I order online. Yay! I probably need to assess the quantities I've ordered after a month or so. I suspect I may have ordered too much fruit and veg, or maybe I just to eat more of them!

The Holiday's Over and the Scales Don't Lie!

Yep, that's right folks.  The holiday is officially over and I weighed in this morning to find a lovely 3.4kg since i last weighed-in 3 weeks ago! So let me get an "aaaarrrgghhhh" out of my system, and let's get back on track! It never fails to amaze me how quickly I can gain especially whilst in NZ, but then there has been an extraordinary amount of eating!

Paris is still calling, and hubby is talking about it more, so I've got to keep up my end of the bargain and get to 85kg...which is now 25kg away!

Back in Sydney and back to Paris

I jumped onto the scales after a two week holiday from school and work, and also a two week holiday from tracking and sensible eating. The scales told me what I already knew - a huge gain of about 3kg! That's what happens when you eat out almost every day. And when you try to consume all the winter favourites that might not be consumed for several years.

So back to reality tomorrow!

Oh well, I'm on holiday!

Yep, I'm on holiday, and don't I know it! :-/

I'm eating everything I haven't eaten for ages such as, NZ yams, lolly cake, Bluff oysters, kumara and going out to eat way more than normal. Oh well, I'll get back to the program in a few days and have a reality check when I return to Sydney. Then it's onwards to Paris.

I took it easy on the slopes as I really didn't want to come home walking with crutches. So I skied one day and went as support person on another day. I had a lovely view of the mountain whilst sipping on milled wine and demolishing my Jeffrey Deaver novel and blueberry muffin.

Ski Fun

I wasn't sure if I was going to ski or not, but the weather was lovely and I didn't want to miss out! But I'm not particularly ski-fit and I am just going to do a few runs and then have a coffee and then have a read of my new book in the sun and then maybe think about doing another run. Here's my first coffee break.

Off to find some snow in New Zealand

We're here in NZ now and are on our way to Central Otago to go skiing. I'm definitely eating more points than I should be but maybe I'll take a little holiday from tracking and just try to be as sensible as I can. So far, not so good :( But, it's the overall journey that counts, and after all, Paris is calling and I can't let Paris down.
